Renewal of Nairobi County Permits and Licences

Pursuant to the Deed of Transfer of functions from the Nairobi City County Government (NCCG) to the National Government dated 25th February 2020, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) was appointed as the Principal Agent for collection of all Nairobi City County revenue. KRA reminds all members of the public and the business community that all payments due to the NCCG for the following revenues in respect to the year 2021 should be paid effective from January 2021 and also W.E.F from the date prescribed by each respective regulatory law.

Land Rates 1st January,2021 Rating Act Cap 267(Revised 2012) and Nairobi City County Finance Act 2018.
Single Business Permit 1st January,2021 21 Nairobi City County Trade Licensing Act 2019.
Billboards and Advertisements 1st January,2021 Nairobi City County Outdoor Advertising and Signage Control Regulation act 2018.
Loading Zones 1st January,2021 Nairobi City County Finance Act 2018
Ground Rent 1st January,2021 Nairobi City County Finance Act 2018
Fire Inspection 1st January,2021 Nairobi City County Finance Act 2018
Food Hygiene  1st January,2021 Public Health Act Cap 242 & 254 and Nairobi City County Finance Act 2018.
Way Leave 1st January,2021 Nairobi City County Finance Act 2018.

Note: All other fees and charges are payable as per the Nairobi City County Finance Act 2018

Invoices may be obtained from Times Tower Ground Floor, Nairobi County Cash Offices at City Hall and at Makadara Cash Office.

A person who fails or neglects to renew a licence as required and continues to operate the business or trade commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding Kenya Shillings fifty thousand or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months, or to both.
